We believe that a church home is vital to a healthy lifestyle with God at its heart. At Salem, we want to help each individual find their place in God's plan. A relationship with Jesus can bring peace to the heart, and personal fulfillment in our relationships with friends, family and coworkers. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God preached and taught to move among us to transform our thoughts, actions, attitudes and lifestyle.
We believe it is because of God's great and sacrificial love, through Jesus Christ, that that we are forgiven today and given eternal life forever!
We believe that the Bible is the sole basis for our belief, is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters of our life. As the Bible teaches, there is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each possessing all the attributes of the deity.
The vision for this church to be a spiritually vibrant community center whose members:
Reach up to God;
Reach out in unconditional love to people;
Reach in to grow in discipleship.
Our mission "Building a bigger heaven tomorrow by sharing Jesus on earth today."
All Salem's ministries and programs are structured around this basic mission and vision for this church in the Northwest Houston community.
Our two foundational truths are
The Great Commandment from Matthew 22:36-40
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
The Great Commission from Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
