We Believe in an Awesome God

July 1851 – Historic Salem founded. Baptisms in creek and evangelism in “wild Texas” begin to create community for early settlers. Tomball does not exist.

1880s – Outreach to immigrants produces results and the church on the hill becomes a beacon for Christ to the community.

1964 - 1967 – Natural disasters and disease, destruction of the historic church building and then death of pastor and his wife could not deter work of God. Salem community rises from devastation with renewed mission zeal.

1980 –Trusting in God’s plan for the future, Salem develops new children’s and youth ministry aimed at bringing the gospel to more families. Salem’s Church community begins transition–growing younger.

1982 - 1990 – Valiant effort to save historic Christian School from closing produces God pleasing results. New chapter in Christian education begins to attract new families to Christian community at Salem.

1996 – Out of a second destructive fire rises a new Salem, determined to build community. God mightily blesses vigorous local and worldwide outreach efforts.
